July 31, 2025

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship today launched extensive activities within the framework of the Youth, Technology, and Jobs project, aiming to enhance digital skills for youth and connect them with real opportunities in the labor market. This was done through the official announcement of the launch of the "Career Accelerator Program," with broad participation from Jordanian universities, international certificate providers, and public and private sector institutions.

The event witnessed the announcement of Kaspersky, a global leader in cybersecurity, joining as a new provider of accredited international certificates within the program. Kaspersky will offer technical workshops and advanced interactive simulations in enterprise cybersecurity, contributing to enhancing students' capabilities in this vital and globally demanded specialization.

The program aims to train 3,000 male and female students from various Jordanian universities in specialized technical and vocational skills, qualify 72 university trainers, grant 2,500 basic international certificates, and 500 advanced certificates in specialized technical fields. The program also seeks to enable at least 60% of participants to secure employment or generate sustainable income within six months of completing the training.

The event also saw the signing of an agreement with Injaz Foundation as a key partner in implementing the program, in addition to signing new memorandums of understanding with three universities: Philadelphia University, Al-Ahliyya Amman University, and the American University of Madaba, bringing the total number of partner universities to 22. Zain company was also honored for its support to the program by providing free internet packages, in addition to honoring a number of universities that showed outstanding performance in implementing international certificate programs.

The event included extensive technical sessions with international certificate providers: Amazon, Microsoft, Huawei, Red Hat, Odoo, and Kaspersky, which discussed the importance of certificates, training paths, and the latest digital trends, with the participation of more than 500 students and academics, in addition to Minecraft Education platform teachers and Future Stations program trainers.

In his opening speech, the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Engineer Sami Al-Sumairat, affirmed that the program embodies a practical model for integration between the government, universities, and the private sector, with the aim of building a sustainable system that addresses the digital skills gap and effectively connects students to the labor market. He added that the "Career Accelerator Program" is no longer just a platform for training or granting certificates, but has transformed into a practical bridge connecting academic knowledge with real-world experience, and integrating professional accreditation into the core of university life, calling for the generalization of this experience in various universities and regions of the Kingdom to ensure equal opportunities and enhance the readiness of Jordanian youth for the requirements of the digital economy.

Mr. Rashid Al-Momani, General Manager for the Middle East at Kaspersky, stated in his speech that they are "proud and honored to cooperate with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in Jordan to contribute to providing students with the knowledge they need. Education is one of Kaspersky's fundamental pillars, and this partnership embodies a commitment to empowering students with the skills and mindset necessary to succeed in their careers and actively contribute to enhancing their country's cybersecurity.
