As a Platinum sponsor of Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit, that takes place in Dubai on 2-3 of November, Kaspersky Lab has its stand at the event where the company’s experts are to discuss with participants the threats that target organizations in the Middle East. Senior Security Researcher, Mohammad Amin Hasbini will also give a presentation shedding light on business security challenges in the age of IT “smartness”.
While many companies in the region have already implemented some basic security measures, they are moving forward with additional levels of security for new technologies. According to Kaspersky Lab’s 2014 Global Corporate IT Security Risks survey, 27% of respondents in the GCC region named mobile device security technologies among top solutions that organizations plan to implement in the coming year, 25% of the respondents cited data loss prevention on the endpoint and 20% mentioned endpoint encryption technologies. These reflect the major concerns of organizations with 20% of survey participants in the GCC citing network intrusion, 19% naming targeted attacks, 25% mentioning data leaks by staff and 19% naming mobile devices as their top security threats.
“For an organization nowadays, there is a risk of facing a wide range of attacks, from Advanced Persistent Threats to ransomware and employees losing their mobile devices used for work. These threats can stop business from running smoothly, causing money loss and reputational damage. Taking the threats in account when developing IT security network is important for organizations of all sizes”, said Ovanes Mikhailov, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab Middle East.
