A new version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus (AVP) for Linux has been released!
Cambridge, UK, September 22, 2000, - Kaspersky Lab Int., an international anti-virus software development company, announces a new version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus (AVP) for Linux. This latest version combines unique functionality, significantly simplifying the program's use and the world's first anti-virus solution to integrate into the popular e-mail gateways Sendmail and Qmail.
This new edition is defined into two separate products: one for workstations and another for servers.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Workstation now consists of five main modules: an AVP Scanner to check disks on demand or by using an additional third-party scheduler; Lite versions of the AVP Daemon (an anti-virus scanner with an improved loading-into-memory procedure); an on-access scanner AVP Monitor, which intercepts and checks for viruses on all files being used in real-time; a new interactive user interface AVP Tuner, which allows prompt and effective control of all program settings; and AVP Updates enabling users to easily download daily anti-virus database updates via the Internet.
In addition to the workstation version, Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Servers includes full versions of AVP Daemon and AVP Monitor. This latest version also provides the ability to create a centralised anti-virus defence for e-mail gateways, Sendmail and Qmail. This enables Kaspersky Anti-Virus to perform a constant anti-virus filtration for both incoming- and outgoing-e-mail correspondence and promptly repulses all intrusion of malicious programs through e-mail.
