But for today’s students, technology tops the list of scholastic shopping. Many schools have BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) technology policies that embrace laptops, tablets and mobile devices as learning tools and effectively require students to have such devices to keep up.

Parents, emotionally preparing to watch your child trundle off to school with these expensive devices in their backpacks will be a lot easier if you guard against the many perils that can threaten them – theft, malware and unwanted Internet browsing chief among them. To protect against these threats, Kaspersky Lab recommends using Kaspersky Internet Security 2015. Here’s why:

Anti-theft: The possibility of theft is unfortunately real at school. Kaspersky’s Internet Security includes anti-theft protection (http://support.kaspersky.com/10203#block1 ) for Android mobile devices and tablets. If a device is stolen, users can enter a password to remotely enable an alarm that will go off even if the device is on mute, and will lock down the device from being used. If need be, users can remotely wipe their device to prevent the loss of sensitive data – and if you’re feeling very crafty, you can even turn the device camera on to try to take a picture of the thief.

How to protect your child’s devices when they take them to school.

Wi-Fi security: Your student will be using these devices outside of your home Wi-Fi network, which means the devices will potentially be more vulnerable to attackers and malware from harmful websites. The Wi-Fi Security Advisor feature in KIS 2015 verifies the security of Wi-Fi connections and will alert your student to potential threats like vulnerable network connections or the transmission of unsecured passwords and will assess the potential risk of connecting to a given network.

You can use the robust parental controls on KIS 2015 to monitor, limit and block your child’s activities on the web, making sure they only visit sites or use applications that you approve of.

Anti-malware: In all the web browsing your child will be doing, invariably they will encounter harmful malware. To combat the latest threats ,KIS 2015 leverages Kaspersky Labs’ industry-leading research through real-time protection against the latest emerging threats, including viruses and spyware. It also features proactive malware detection to remove harmful files from these devices.

Parental controls: And finally, because your child will be using these devices outside of the home and away from your parental supervision, you can use the robust parental controls on KIS 2015 to monitor, limit and block your child’s activities on the web, making sure they only visit sites or use applications that you approve of.

Knowing that these devices will be as secure as possible as your child sprints off to school should leave you feeling a little better about the whole thing. Now if only there was a way to ensure your kids won’t drop these devices, that would be great.

4 ways KIS 2015 keeps your kids’ tablets and devices safe at school.

Preparing to watch your child trundle off to school with these expensive devices in their backpacks will be a lot easier if you guard against the many perils that can threaten them – theft, malware and unwanted Internet browsing chief among them.

[5,7,9
105,769,220,771,415,215,770,49,174
0":"post-3865","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-news","8":"category-products","9":"category-tips","10":"tag-android","11":"tag-anti-malware","12":"tag-anti-theft","13":"tag-back-to-school","14":"tag-byod","15":"tag-internet-security","16":"tag-malware-protection","17":"tag-tablets","18":"tag-wi-fi
["GET
