Podcast: Surging cryptocurrency, Tesla’s Bitcoin investment, a compromised water treatment plant, and more

We’ve got a jumbo version of the Kaspersky Transatlantic Cable podcast for you this week, replete with the usual array of stories, plus an interview that helps shed some light on recent financial news.

We start episode 188 with a dive into the world of cryptocurrency. First, it’s the purchase of $1.5 billion in Bitcoin by Tesla, and then: Dogecoin is surging? Both of those stories tie in nicely with the recent Robinhood and WallStreetBets (WSB) hullabaloo, so Dave talked with Alexey Pupyshev, Waves Technology evangelist and cofounder of the Neutrino and Gravity protocols, to discuss crypto and what’s really been happening during the past couple of weeks.

From there, we head to the state of Florida, where a water treatment system was accessed not once, but twice, by an unidentified hacker who altered the water composition.

Our fourth story is about the group behind Ziggy ransomware, which closed shop and posted its decryption keys online.

Finally, we look at the really weird story of cow photos deemed too racy for Facebook ads.
