Kaspersky Lab announced yesterday in Dubai launching its new product Kaspersky Internet Security Multi Device 2015 in Middle East market, in the presence of journalists and media.
Kaspersky Middle East Managing Director, Ghassan Darri, introduced the event by stating Kaspersky products have become leader in UAE market. He added that increasing of mobile phones usage in the region along with arising cyber threats stress the importance of Kaspersky new product.
Security Researcher from Kaspersky Lab, Amin Hasbini, explained in details latest cyber threats and attacks in the region, and displayed number of real interesting statics among last years: total number of cyber threats in UAE reached 42 million in 2013, while it was 36 million in 2014 till August, and is expected to increase. UAE was considered as the most attacked country in 2013, while KSA took this place in 2014, with 39 million attacks till August. Dubai has witnessed increase of cyber attacks reported cases by 88% in 2013. Hasbini mentioned that 30% of attacks that targeted the region were financial attacks; he also declared that 98% of mobile malware targeted Android platforms.
After that the discussion was concentrated on the new product KIS MD 2015, as Consumer Sales Director from Kaspersky, Aman Manzoor, explained its features in details. This product protects personal data from loss or theft, and doesn’t slow down devices or affects their performance. New features also include taking backup copies of files touched by unknown program to make malicious changes, and it protects children experience using Internet, by “Parental Control” feature. It also identifies hacking webcam attempts, and blocks them to avoid danger. It also provides “Safe Money” feature to protect financial transactions against malware threats. A new feature, which the product provides, is checking security of Wi-Fi spots, and sending notifications to users. This product is considered as the perfect solution to protect users’ privacy and money on all PCs and mobile phones, both Apple and Android operating systems, and will be available in UAE market starting next week.
